Praveen Kumar Sobti Born: 6 December 1947

Praveen Kumar Sobti was an Indian hammer and discus thrower, film actor, politician and former soldier of Border Security Force

Praveen represented India internationally at platforms such as the Olympics, Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games

He won gold medals in discus throw at the 1966 and 1970 Asian Games, as well as a silver medal at the 1966 Commonwealth Games.

Mahabharat’s Bheem, actor Praveen Kumar Sobti, dies of a heart attack at 75 Year.

He worked as the Deputy Commandant in the Border Security Force (BSF) as well.

BSF wrote,  “Director General & All Ranks of BSF condole the untimely demise of Sh Praveen Kumar Sobti, former Deputy Commandant, Arjuna Awardee, two-time Olympian (1968 Mexico Games and 1972 Munich Games) & four-time Asian Games medallist (2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze).

Praveen also dabbled in politics, joining the Aam Aadmi Party in 2013. He contested the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections that year from the Wazirpur constituency but lost
