The auction of players for IPL 2023 has started. This time the fate of 405 players is at stake in the IPL. However, all 10 teams have space for only 87 players. Sunrisers Hyderabad has the most money for this auction, while Kolkata Knight Riders have to fill their 11 slots for just Rs 7 crore.
A total of 991 players had registered for the auction of the 16th season of IPL. Those who got registered included 714 Indian and 277 foreign players. But out of 991 players, 10 teams shortlisted 369 players for the auction. Apart from this, a request was also made to add 36 other players to the auction. In this way, now a total of 405 players are included in the auction list.
Out of these 405 players, 273 are Indian players. Apart from this, 132 foreign players are also participating in the auction. Not only this, among the foreign players, 4 players are from Associate countries. Talking about these 405 players, out of these 119 players have experience of playing international matches. There are 282 players who haven’t got a chance to debut yet.
10 franchise teams have a total of 87 players vacant. Out of these 87, only 30 slots are vacant for foreign players. Although foreign players are going to be in the most demand. The base price of 19 players is Rs 2 crore. 11 players have registered for the base price of Rs 1.5 crore. There are 20 players who have kept their base price of one crore rupees for the auction.
Talking about the budget, all 10 teams have Rs 206.5 crore. Hyderabad will participate in the auction with a budget of 42.25 crores. KKR has only Rs 7 crore left. The Delhi Capitals team has to fill 5 slots in a budget of Rs 19 crore.
